Hotel Sugar Beach

Hotel Sugar Beach is on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the Guanacaste Province, a Northwestern region of Costa Rica.

The beach, Playa Pan de Azúcar, remains secluded and pristine. We are lucky and proud to be located right on one of the most beautiful beaches in Central America! The Guanacaste coast is the driest in Costa Rica, with daily sunshine guaranteed mid-December through mid-April. Water sports are available year round. Popular activities at or near the hotel include scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, sport fishing, boogie boarding and surfing.

According with Frommer's Costa Rica: Hotel Sugar Beach is located on a white-sand beach--one of the few in the area and therefore one of the most attractive, in my opinion. The beach is on a small cove surrounded by rocky hills. Nature lovers will be thrilled to find wild howler monkeys and iguanas almost on their doorsteps. Snorkelers should be happy here, too; this cove has some good snorkeling in the dry season. Tile floors, wicker furniture, beautiful carved doors, and big bathrooms all add up to first-class comfort. Hammocks under the trees provide a great way to while away a hot afternoon.

Hotel Sugar Beach has 32 rooms spread out on the 24 acre beach front property. Hotel Sugar Beach is alone on Playa Pan de Azúcar sharing the dry forest with only monkeys, iguanas, coatis, raccoons, and the beauty and abundance of Costa Rica’s Natural World. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and offer privacy, large patios, air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite television, telephones, hot water and refrigerator.

In a large open-air restaurant, our chefs prepare wonderful nightly specials with a variety of fresh seafood, fantastic Costa Rican beef, chicken, and fresh vegetables and fruits.
